snow white minus 4 dwarves?

snice · 06/06/2010 10:49

You go as the pied piper with your old school recorder and the three of them can skip along behind you

gherkinwithapurplemerkin · 06/06/2010 10:49

Princess -

bridesmaid dress, pref with lacing across the bodice (look in charity shop, ebay), ballet flats on your feet and the hat - make a tall cone from glittery cardbord and trail a long floaty scarf from the top, secure with elastic. o be Rapunzel, make a long plait from thick wool and attach it to inside of the hat.

OR
Little Miss Muffet

bridesmaid dress/long skirt and gypsy-style top (New Look have these), ballet flats, mob cap (circle of fabric, gather with elastic to fit your head), add a plastic spider dnagling down, tie a spoon to your waist by a ribbon.

ive found this www.woolworths.co.uk/disney-tinkerbell---medium/694404746.prd?prdToken=/p/prod2505083-sku3645 970
which is a bit lazy... and not cheap... and would look better if i didnt eat. or drink. which isnt going to happen.

i do prefer the idea of putting some of it together myself a la purple merkins advice (love your name btw)

long cape a good accessory to work in i think. unless im a wolf or summat.

lolol at minus 4 dwarves. my perpetually confused expression would work well for this idea i think...

gherkinwithapurplemerkin · 06/06/2010 11:15

Don't be a wolf - too hot and soggy of it rains.

ruffletheanimal · 06/06/2010 15:33

ah yes, good point.

so indeed, a cape would be a good thing to have in any event; rain cape, sun cape, seating and beer belly coverer all at once.

something with a cape then. hmmm

OP posts:
Flamesparrow · 06/06/2010 17:44

should be more cape wearing in general I feel.

Not that that helps with costumes

ruffletheanimal · 06/06/2010 19:20

agree

so where to find one?

OP posts:
FlameOverThinks · 06/06/2010 19:22

Um. When you need it for?

YoginiBikini · 06/06/2010 19:36

OOoh we're planning our costumes too

Not really following the theme properly but are thinking of a set of russian dolls, the characters from The Enormous Turnip or The Porridge Pot, Chicken Licken, GingerBread Man. Lots of ideas....... although ds just wants to be spiderman at the moment. he'll come round.

Three Billy Goats Gruff for you?

I agree that more capes should be worn in general

ruffletheanimal · 06/06/2010 21:12

29 july flamers

a family theme is out yogini. there is no way i will convince my three to dress for that. (which is why i had my fun dressing them identically while they were v little and could not argue - those days are long gone, but hey, so are the nappies, so i aint bovvered really)

why are costumes for women almopst always slutty?? whats that all about? i want to be a fairy tale character, not a hooker, tho, i spose in these economic times one oughtnt to rule out the possible income stream [boak]

OP posts:
FlameOverThinks · 06/06/2010 22:06

I like being a slut when I get dressed up.

Or just in general.

Think it comes from my lack of sex life

I could run up a cloak by then. Can't do the rest of the costume quite so easily, but cloaks I ain't bad at.

FlameOverThinks · 06/06/2010 22:09

Oh whilst you're here... can you ask small ruffles 1 & 3 if they know where my back door key is?

ruffletheanimal · 06/06/2010 22:19

oh no, really? will ask.

oh yay, really? cool ! will have to have Important Meetings to discuss Sort of Cape.

have ordered things from ebay and american apparel. vaguely fairyish sorts of things in the main. no-ones going to actually ask who im meant to be anyway, right?
