Skin products - what should I use? Nothing works!

Or at least nothing seems to work. I have quite sensitive skin and I really would love to find some products that suit it.

I am plagued by an open-pore, acne-scarred general ruddiness and I hate it. (In photos my body looks normal coloured and my face looks like a crimson smartie on top. And make-up always looks rather 'Aunt Sallyish' on me.)

Is there anything I can use to calm things down, soften things up and smooth them out? Or am I asking the earth?!

Try Dermalogica.
Pricy but it works.

Thanks, I'll look it up now.

It's sold through beauty salons- they do amazing facials. I use the special cleansing gel and daily microfoliant, but use a Clarins moisteriser.
I have sensitive skin and it's brilliant.

Beauty salons that use Dermalogica products for their facials are listed in Yellow pages. By going for a facial the therapist will be able to recommend the right product for you and you can leave buying any of the products until you see how your skin reacts. Although the facial may seem expensive, (probably £50.00 plus) it will save you money on buying products that do'nt suit you. And a facial is a lovely treat!

Organic skin care range in tescos is really good (Its a Liz earle rip off). But I think you should get some half decent make up too

I have sensitive skin and I positively evangelise about this Akamuti cleanser. I only have a few open pores and no acne scars though.

When my skin is looking a bit rough/inflamed I use camellia kissi oil, it does make me a little too pale if I use it for too long though, people start to ask if I'm feeling ok. It definitely tightens up the pores a bit too.

I've recently started using Burt's Bees radiance cream, but it's too early to comment on it yet.

I am using the oil cleansing method and it works great for my sensitive, sometimes oily, sometimes dry skin. There are loads of threads about it on here but I started because I got sick of the price of the Neals Yard rose balm cleanser thing I was using and when it ran out I just shoved some olive oil on my face and it works great.

I also find that my skin has a very slight reaction to most foundation - leaving it a bit irritated and rough/red, especially around the mouth.

Oooh, thanks for all this. I'm off to look up the oil cleansing method now
