Please get out the bikini/swimming costume you are planning to wear and try it on.

Just back from holiday and was surprised at what some women were wearing.

This isn't about how fat/thin they were just that the bikinis/costumes were often so so so unflattering and unsupportive.

My observations were that black/navy/chocolate brown looked very chic and flattered most women.

Lurid colours/patterns not such a good look. And if you can see the white threads of the lycra on your swimming costume you do really need to buy a new one.

hmm, may have to have a look but pretty sure well beyond my budget. have just tried on my Jessika Allen JETS bikini and swimsuit purchased last summer, following OP's instructions. she's right it's a good idea to check appearance at home- no good trying it on once already on holiday, when it's too late.
am pleased to say my reflection did not me too much - pretty much the same shape as last year i think, so no real excuse for further purchases...

Can I also add that a pale blue thong on a pale blue bum is NOT an attractive proposition. And Heidi Klein bikinis performed best on waterslides .
