thaks for those links lucie, i had looked at m&s but I'm not so sure, they look like cropped trousers rather than capris, I was thinking more like these, more straight leg and heavier cotton, almost like denim.

I've got these from (ssshh) Lands End. They are just about ankle length on me (5'1"). They have some wider-legged ones too (and denim I think)

a lot of the ladies on the Avid & Wise thread have these. Am wearing mine right now. They always get complimented and are comfy to boot. They come up large FYI.

They are nice but I fear they won't fit me, they only have small or medium and as I'm a size 16 I am neither. But thanks for that!
