Help me find shoes and a wrap / cardi to go with this seraphine maxi dress

This is the dress I am thinking of ordering for a friend's wedding next month when I will be 6mths pg.

It is a gay wedding so TRES glam but also need to be comfy! (The thinking behind the maxi dress was to go for grecian goddess look while hiding pasty legs / cankles and also looking good with flat shoes!!)

Shoes - am thinking silver/diamante flat sandals??

Wrap / cardi / cover-up of some sort - no idea really but I need something. Any ideas?

Check out the Dune sandals called "Jailer".
Gorgeous.

Jacksmybaby · 03/06/2010 14:16

Yep morag those are exactly the sort of things I was thinking of, thanks. A little on the pricey side though so other cheaper suggestions welcome too!

Kew have some nice "Zena" sandals?

moragbellingham · 03/06/2010 15:31

Nine West Higher diamante sandals at House of Fraser are currently £35.

Think I may get some myself now!

Ooh yay loads of nice options on house of f website, thanks!

Any suggestions for cardis?

I have just bought this to go with a navy jersey maxi. It may be a bit plain tbh but with all your shoe/jewellery fabulousness going on it may fit the bill.
The knit is very fine and it's very lightweight.

Jacksmybaby · 03/06/2010 17:55

That is cute oandw - not sure if any of the colours would go well with this dress though, what do u think?

Jacksmybaby - I have that dress!!

It is by far the most flattering maternity item of clothing I have ever worn.

I am jealous you have a wedding to attend weaaring it.

Jacksmybaby · 03/06/2010 18:00

Just found this - what does anyone think?

Ooh, yama, tell me about the sizing. I am normally a 10-12 so not sure whether to order the 2 or the 3? Also tell me whether you wear it with a cardi and if so what kind goes with it!

I actually think that gold might go better with that dress (lovely, by the way - if only I was pregnant!)
I've not worn gold in years so big U-turn from me.

Kurt Geiger website good also.
The Nixon is silver and the diamante flip flops come in more sizes.

olderandwider · 03/06/2010 18:07

Jacksmybaby - The fuchsia might be good? Elsewhere on the site are some pretty metallic tie front boleros, kind of lacy.

olderandwider · 03/06/2010 18:08

btw talking about the Brora site!

Jacksmybaby · 03/06/2010 18:08

morag I was thinking gold at first too, then I saw the sandals that the model on the seraphine website is wearing with the dress, which are silvery, and started thinking silver would be better. I'm still not sure which is better tbh!

Definitely go for the 2.

I too am normally a 10-12. I made the mistake of opting for a 3 with a pair of those roll down trousers - they drown me.

The 2 is perfect.

Jacksmybaby · 04/06/2010 12:23

Thanks all so far. Any more cardi suggestions? I'm really stuck as to what colour!
