Are there any that will gradually help me to become stylish and beautiful ? I'm not interested in ones that tell me all about what is "in".

how do you mean, exactly? do you mean ones that might just inspire you a bit?

HonestyBox · 03/06/2010 00:18

Yeah, try the sartorialist it is an amazing, and amazingly famous, photo blog revealing what people are wearing on the streets around the world. It does end up being photos of people working in fashion tho, just to warn you. I find it v. inspiring.

Not a blog but for make-up and beauty reviews try Make Up Alley.

Anyone else? I would like to know more.

The Sartorialist is great - a tad intimidating sometimes though, and doesn't bear much relevance to the reality of 9-5/ motherhood/ fish fingers for tea, that's my only reservation about it. If you want to read about the endless struggle to stay stylish whilst dealing with the messiness of motherhood, you might like this one . Not that I'm trying to self-promote or anything ...

LTEC, is that you in the black maxi? Looking fab. I am dying for a black maxi but can't find one.

I agree that the sartorialist is intimidating and it is not as good as it used to be before he was 'famous'. The comments are a thing to behold and I like that little insight into a world of fashion that is bonkers really.

I really like this one

I love the sartorialist, it gives me goose bumps sometimes. I also love reading Style Bubble, which is by Susie Lao and she does give some great links to other blogs. She is early 20s, so I dont know if that would suit you. She does often link/photograph previews of Topshop, Whistles etc and Sample sale details if you are in London.

oh thanks honesty - yes, it's me about a year ago, was 22 weeks pregnant.

what sort of maxi are you after? that one is American Vintage, it's strapless though which isn't everyone's cup of tea ...

ltec, I've just spent my train time reading your blog!
I love it and you are a real beauty.

LetThemEatCake · 03/06/2010 11:35

Thanks on both counts blossoming! become a follower - I could use the support

blossoming · 03/06/2010 12:04

Will do. (if I figure out how!) but have managed to bookmark!

bunjies · 03/06/2010 17:01

Love this for no holds barred reviews of beauty stuff.

MrsFogi · 03/06/2010 19:41

Thanks for the replies so far - I don't think the sartorialist is up my street. Looking for something to inspire me a bit whilst being realistic about the realities of life/time/budget/children/job/etc etc

If you have any kind of hankering for vintage then Lottie Loves is good - it's certainly inspired me to be more of a dress kind of woman than I was.
