Can you return something if you can't find the receipt?

I have a dress from topshop I want to return and I can't find the receipt anywhere

I want to know this too re h and m.Have a cape i bought and the zip slides down as you wear it and it ends up on the floor!

If it's faulty I don't think you need the receipt.

Topshop might exchange if you don't have the receipt.

I think that they will give you an exchange. They won't give you your money back though. And if it's gone down in price, you'll only be entitled to the amount that it's now priced at.

In my experience, shops will usually accept other kinds of proof of purchase. A couple of times I have printed off bank statements, and brought them along, they then match them up with their records and refund you. This has worked at Argos and Tescos.
