if you were starting a new job and they have no "dress code"?

You'd be wearing a lab coat and so have been told to wear whatever you're comfortable in; jeans and trainers are fine.

jeans converse probably and a tee shirt

what job?

janeite · 31/05/2010 22:33

I would probably go for wideleg grey trousers and leather converse type things, with a fitted shirt - at least until I knew how scruffy anybody else was!

janeite · 31/05/2010 22:33

Jeans and trainers are hideous together and I would never, ever wear that - even if everybody else was!

brimfull · 31/05/2010 22:34

my pyjamas

southeastastra · 31/05/2010 22:36

smart trousers nice boots, plainish top, probably v neck jumper

sazzlelou · 31/05/2010 22:39

i'd love to go in my pjs

i was thinking jeans and converse. Or maybe go a bit smarter until i've seen how casual others are.

Janelite - what footwear would you wear with jeans? Just curious

Thanks for the opinions - it's as a microbiologist

smartish jean-like trousers and ballet flats maybe

janeite · 31/05/2010 22:42

With jeans - leather Converse type things (ie not as teenage looking as real Converse, or as clunky as trainers); wedges - if I am feeling up to walking in them; ballet shoes. But I am totally not a style-icon, so do feel free to ignore me!

corduroy flares, orange polyester shirt, bogey green pullover and wide rimmed specs.

isn't that what all microbiologists wear?
