Brown leather bag help please

I'm looking for a brown leather bag, possibly tan, big enough to hold a paperback and an umbrella.

Quite like this but I think it's too small.

Would like a proper shoulder strap.

Or this?

Any opinions/ideas? Don't want to spend more than 60. If I can't get a decent leather one for that price, maybe somebody could recommend a cloth one instead?

Thanks.

do you mean across the body?

janeite · 30/05/2010 17:24

Shoulder bag, although across the body would be okay I guess.

Does something like this appeal?

or this

cyb · 30/05/2010 17:26

A few in your price range here

janeite · 30/05/2010 17:30

I like a couple of the Topshop ones - would never have thought of looking there! Thank you. The Mango one is a nice shape but prefer leather or cloth, rather than plastic-pleathery stuff.

Don't like the Dotty Ps' one - tis too bling for me.

Thanks. Will deffo go and look in Topshop.

This might be a bit dark for you (I think it is lighter than the photo suggests though) but it is very cheap. Or this maybe.

janeite · 30/05/2010 17:34

Thank you. Don't like the Matthew M one. I saw the Clarks one today and it is nice but too small.

cyb · 30/05/2010 17:38

lol you are a quicker typist than me

janeite · 30/05/2010 17:39

This one looks worth a look

OP posts:
cyb · 30/05/2010 17:40

that one looks way more £££ than it is

southeastastra · 30/05/2010 17:41

i quite fancy that one myself too, it's nice isn't it

janeite · 30/05/2010 17:42

Glad you both approve - I must admit sometimes, my taste is v different from everybody else's and I trust you two!

OP posts:
cyb · 30/05/2010 17:49

ah, thats nice

southeastastra · 30/05/2010 17:55

there's one on ebay that is going for £51 so far!

it looks a little small for me thinking about it.

southeastastra · 30/05/2010 17:55

aw that's a nice thing to say!

vinauchocolat · 30/05/2010 18:02

I have this and thoroughly recommend

janeite · 30/05/2010 18:10

Thank you. I like that although I'm not sure about the dangly bits.

Is it me or are Oasis clothes getting worse and worse and more and more expensive?

OP posts:
vinauchocolat · 30/05/2010 18:26

Yes the clothes are getting worse and worse, OK for a tween but I feel silly even looking at them. Bags though are surprisingly good I have found, the leather's really quite soft and they're not stupidly expensive. Dangly bits inoffensive in real life, sit right next to the bag (though I also like the ones you've linked to)

janeite · 30/05/2010 18:29

Thanks Vin - will have a look at it - and close my eyes as I walk past the clothes!

Too big? I adore Scaramanga bags, I can highly recommend them!

janeite · 31/05/2010 12:19

That's lovely but I'm not going to Fife any time soon and I want to buy in the flesh, not online. I do really like it though. Thank you.

Fossil website.
I seem to buy nothing other than brown leather handbags and there's always something here.
