Does a dressy card for night exist or am I better off with a light jacket type thing?

I don't need to keep really warm and toasty, more just to take the chill off. Cardi in black, jacket could be any colour.

It would depend what you are wearing it with but here are a couple of dressy cardigans

here

here

i like a jacket meself

blazer type

they can be worn with anything - dressy cardies only get worn on dressy ocassions

cyb · 30/05/2010 17:37

sorrry, do you want me to find one for you?

Lauriefairycake · 30/05/2010 17:38

I have been drooling over this damn thing for 6 months but it doesn't go over my norks AND it's now reduced envy

cyb · 30/05/2010 17:39

laurie cant you just wear it open? it barely covers the mannquins chest

Lauriefairycake · 30/05/2010 17:43

I wish but I have 36J norks and they don't do it in the XLarge

I really, really want it.

NomDePlume · 30/05/2010 17:44

i want a really preppy blazer (though DH will take the piss and say it looks like one of his old school ones, but he knows nothing of style). Trouble is, all the ones I've found have either been too 'workwear', double bloody breasted (tits are too big for that malarkey), cheap fabric/badly made or £200+ (which is more than I want to spend). Hmmm.

I'd go for a jacket over a cardi, more versatile.

cyb · 30/05/2010 17:46

this type off affair for a neutrally jacket

Themasterandmargaritas · 30/05/2010 17:54

LAurie I love it, you don't think it would be too much?

Tick tock nice suggestions too.

It's got to be slightly more dressy than a blazer, more like this but I'm just not quite sure about it.

Oooh the next one is nice. I wish I could wear something like that but I have the same problem as Lfc and have excessive boobage.

Themasterandmargaritas · 30/05/2010 18:00

Norks not an issue here.

The lace one I think would work equally well dress up and cas with jeans. And not too hot.

Yep I agree would work both ways and it is a reasonable price.

Lauriefairycake · 30/05/2010 18:18

The lace one is nice too. I think what they both have in common is that its the 'surprise' combination that is fashionable - dressy jacket + casual clothes.

There are some gorgeous sequinned half way between a blazer and a cardi type affairs in Zara at the moment

smokinaces · 31/05/2010 10:15

I have a gorgeous cardi type thingy from Debenhams my mum got me for Christmas. It is perfect for wearing with a dress on a night out, its one of those that dont have any buttons or anything and 3/4length sleeves in a lovely drapey material. Far more comfy and practical than a jacket too.
