Would be interested to know if you have either of these and if you are happy with the system you have?

I was all set to buy the boots system, then went into boots today and found out that after about 6months you have to replace the bulb which costs £100.

The phillips system is more expensive to start with but you do not need to replace the bulb.

Would like to hear if it works well for others.

Also the phillips system has been out in other countries for about 10years, so I'm thinking I could possibly buy it abroad for cheaper, but not sure if that is wise as need my garentee.

Any advice welcome...

newstart, did u use it on your face?
and hows ur hair growth now? do u have fine hair now on areas u've used it?
i have thick hair on the legs with fair skin, so what setting do you think must be used for thick hair-fair skin?
i am currently in the middle east and non of the site do shipments this side
can anyone suggest if theres any way i could get this in middle east?
well, i have also checked lots of sites to decide on which one is better, boots or philips, and i guess philips is more easy and convenient. ya, its priced more than boots, but doesnt matter. only concern is if it would be ok using on the face, that too only on the few thick hair.
if anyone already used it on the face, please do let me know the results

I can't decide between the Boots Smooth Skin and the Philips Lumea. I want to use it on my neck and chin and upper lip but the hassle of using gel each time is a concern. so to is the issue of replacement bulbs.
which machine gives the more permanent results?

Ooh, glad I found this, have just ordered the phillips one as it is on offer on amazon at 270!! If I find it is not for me could then ebay it without losing too much!!

I have got an IPL machine but not one of the mentioned ones.

Mine is from the 'Ideal World' shopping channel.

It is the best thing I have ever bought! I am really hairy and I have already got NO hair on my lower legs! (I bought it in Feb iirc)

I emailed Phillips who said that the reason you cannot use it on neck and face is that it would require a different intensity of light ... has anyone tried it on their neck/face?

How is IPL different from laser hair removal I find it all a bit confusing!

I have been using the boots smooth skin for 5 -6 weeks on my underarms and most of the hair has gone completely, especially the dark regrown at the bend of your armpit. I am delighted - would recommend to anyone. Still waiting for results on bikine line.
