Toddler boys shoes

Why are they do they all seem to have such hard thick soles? Is there a reason for this?

My DS had some lovely winter boots with flexible grippy soles but the only shoes I can find have rock hard plasticy soles that he constantly trips over.

It can't be good for his feet? Can it? Surely you should be able to feel the floor surface a bit. I know you don't want them treading on a sharp pebble but frankly these soles are ridiculous.

I imagine it's just a fashion thing.

Clarks Doodles have got quite thin, flexibe soles, if that helps.

Yeah but they be FUGLY. I don't like characters or writing on shoes.

I know, I know. I shouldn't be so fussy.

The primigi ones are the ones he constantly trips over.

They are ££££ as well.

My friend trained as a childrens shoe fitter, she told me not to put any shoe on my kids feet that I can't easily bend in half with one hand.

Dosn't help you find a shoe, but you are right

Geox are lovely but quite rigid, they are one of the only shoes with leather inners as well as outers, so nice and breathable for children's feet. Quite £££ but worth it I think.

Podlers are good, my DS has them.

nicolamumof3 · 28/05/2010 22:22

umi?

jeananddolly · 02/06/2010 21:27

Thanks everyone...especially Cockatrice. I love being RIGHT. How strange that they make such rigid soles.

I got him some Converse in the end (fashion victim)
