That's alot of perfume! Have you tried the Clarins blue one? Someone was going on about a summery lemony one on a thread the opther week, I will hunt it down as I want something summery too. Just out of intrest, does perfume not go off?

GeekOfTheWeek · 28/05/2010 14:57

A lemony one sounds good

Yes perfume does go off but I wear it every day and I store it in a cool dark place.

I just can't help buying it

I love the Clarins blue one!

EnvelopeDuvet · 28/05/2010 15:01

here's the thread a few suggestions for lemony perfumes. I rarely use mine, I had chanel allure and it now smells really weird. Any idea how long they last? Might just buy some new stuff anyway Those ones in the apple shaped bottles look nice (i.e they look like they'd smell nice) and there was a Gucci (I think?) one with lots of roses in the advert

Agree with ruby

But if you must, you ought to try Origins Ginger Essence - really fresh and delicious in the sunshine!

GeekOfTheWeek · 28/05/2010 15:54

I really must. It can't be helped

I haven't seen/smelt the clarins blue or the origins one so I will look for them.

EnvelopeDuvet, I think you mean Gucci Flora? It's bloody awful. Imo obviously!

I have Jo Malone Orange Blossom and love it's freshness for summer.

Givenchy Very Irrestible Summer Sorbet sounds interesting - what's it like?

GeekOfTheWeek · 28/05/2010 16:26

Orange blossom sounds good.

Tbh I am not really loving the givenchy one. Its a bit too sweet and sickly for me. Not as summery as the fruity or floral ones imo.

The Clarins blue is gorgeous, so fresh!

As is the John Paul Gaultier Summer one

GeekOfTheWeek · 28/05/2010 16:52

Can you tell me what the jpg summer one is like? I love the original but think it is too 'heavy' for summertime use.

Gucci Flora is very summery

HurleySatOnMe · 28/05/2010 18:32

I really like Estee Lauders Bronze Goddess and have been havign cheeky squirts of it from Boots all week to decide if I should buy a bottle. But it doesn't seem to last long at all so I am undecided if I should spend almost £40 on something which will go doubly fast because I have to keep putting more on.
I normally wear Stella nude and tried the Stella Sheer and can see no difference . I also like Flower by Kenzo, but based on last years evidence, it appears that wasps like it too, so I haven't the guts to use it this summer.

cruelladepoppins · 28/05/2010 19:37

L'Occitane Peony is lovely - grapefruit, bergamot, peony, rose and white musk. Even my 8-yr-old DS likes it on me ...

janeite · 28/05/2010 19:50

I've got Stella Nude but it is nowhere near as nice as Philosophy Pure Grace. I like Kenzo Flower. I had the Origins ginger one but I had to give it away because it gave me a rash.

ja9 · 28/05/2010 20:25

I know it's old... and maybe i love it because it reminds me of happy days... but i still think AMARIGE by Givenchy is a gorgeous summer scent...

BitOfFun · 28/05/2010 20:29

I have Thierry Mugler's Rose D'Angel, which is really lovely.

HinnyPet · 28/05/2010 20:48

Bronze Goddess is lush, very summery. I have the perfume oil.
Clarins blue, Eau Ressourcant, is lovely too.

FlightyButPolite · 28/05/2010 20:56

i'm a bit like this! Particular favourites of mine in the past couple of years have been Bulgari Green Tea and Dior Escalier di Portofino - this one took a while to grow on me, but now I love it because it smells of bergamot and lemon which reminds of the suncream we had when I was a teenager!

Another lovely lemony one is from Annick Goutal...in fact all of hers are pretty gorgeous.

Are you in London? If so a trip to Les Senteurs is a real luxury - they'll let you have a real browse and even sell you tiny samples to take away (they work out really cheaply) and include lots of the more unusual houses such as Creed.

212 Carolina Herrera - it's wonderful and is my summer scent.
