My hair is longer than shoulder length and black with a slight curl/wave and a sideswept fringe.

Want to do a beehive, should I curl or straighten it? And apparently you can get these things that you put on your head and pile your hair on top of- what the heck are they called?

Arent those things you use to bulk your hair out called bumpits or something like that? And I think you have to do a lot of backcombing to get a beehive - not terribly helpful but doing the best I can, sorry

Forgot to ask what you're wearing - 50's party sounds good.

southeastastra · 27/05/2010 20:48

yes bumpits, beehives are more 60s, my aunties had a matching pair

Sorry, I forgot to check back last night! I am wearing a black pencil skirt, heels, black shirt, silver belt, pink neck scarf and some really cool 50's glasses that I found on ebay.

I went and had my hair trimmed today and asked the hairdresser and she kindly gave me a demo so I fell more confident what to do now.

She also said if ever you backcomb your hair and use lots of hairspray, wash it with a drop of fairy liquid before your normal shampoo and it will wash out all of the hairspray and de-knot your hair. Excellent!
