Please tell me about your worst hair disasters?

I've been back from the hairdresser for about 2 hours and am still, well, distraught. I had a cut and colour for my holiday next week - the colour is fab, but the cut is just far, far shorter than I wanted. It needed cutting, but it used to be almost to my tail bone and now it is around my shoulders. I hate it.

But I know that I'm overreacting - it's just a hair cut, and it'll grow back. Still, can you tell me what's the worst that's happened to your hair? Could do with a bit of perspective

A few years ago when I was in a post-birth haze, some young hairdresser cut me a lovely layered mullet
Despite me saying that I didn't want short layers. Apparently she was renowned for it, though I didn't know that at the time as I was new to the area.
Have never let anyone with pink streaks cut my hair again, took me ages to get my hair right.

I'm naturally a brunette with reddish tones, but decided to go blonde when I was 23. The hairdresser assured me that it would look natural. I walked out with half inch roots and hair the colour and texture of Barbie's. My DH actually laughed in shock. Plus, my dark eyebrows/colouring meant that I looked like a lady of the night. Not a good look. Took six months to get it right.

Oh no! I admit that shoulder length hair is definitely not as bad as layered mullets or barbie hair.
