Fake tan - why?

Skin looks so much better if you (a) exfoliate regularly (b) moisturise regularly (c) eat your 5 a day, which gives your skin a lovely yellow tone.

truly, i haven't

Ronaldinhio I use St Trop everyday, its fab, very light and just makes your skin glow more than anything. Its not a heavy fake tan by any means..

How do you know?!

KittyTwoShoes · 27/05/2010 14:47

I use that Johnsons holiday skin stuff before I go on holiday, so I can wear lovely white summer dresses and not look like a ghost, and it gives me complete control over how dark. I usually just put it on twice. Plus if it goes on a bit wrong, it doesn't matter because it takes a couple of goes to work.

msboogie · 27/05/2010 16:38

I hate the stuff too and invariably end up with dark brown bits between my fingers, but I am deathly pale and no amount of fruit and veg has ever made a difference. I have to wear it on my legs in summer or I look truly hideous in a skirt. Bluey white legs like mine do not look good bare.

If you apply it right and just use a minimum it takes that purple look away and minimises any imperfections.

and no way does fake tan cost more than having veins done - its only £20 a bottle!

Wouldn't eat loads of carrots anyway - too many carbs.

wineismysaviour · 27/05/2010 19:27

Ummm, carrots are not carbs...or am I missing something?

msboogie · 27/05/2010 19:41

oh yes, there's carbs in carrots

I'm a wimp in the sun (run to the shade if my skin starts to feelm slightly warm) and would never dream of using a sunbed.

I have very dark hair, so always look a bit washed out (do use make up & bronzer).

I hate fake tan (the smell makes me gip) and always ends up streaky. However, on the rare occasion that I wear a skirt, I do use a little bit of wash-off fake tan mixed with moisturiser to take a way the almost blue tinge of my legs.
