my friend has had her 2nd baby this afternoon. she lives at the other end of the country to me and she is allergic to lots of things (like nuts, has lots of issues with lots of foods). I want to buy her something for herself since i know she;ll get lots of presents for the baby. has anyone got any suggestions for something lovely but no more than about £25 i could get for her? i was thinking a pampering cream or something but one good for people who are sensitive? or is that just really boring? i'm stuck!

I know that this is a bit "out there",but I have started getting all my friends a cleaner as a post baby pressie! You can ring an agency, and they will send a cleaner around.£30 does a three hour session. If you don't have family and a DH like mine-ie allergic to housework,it is a very welcome pressie! They do windows,skirting-anything! I have got ones for friends for 3 weeks, but a oneoff would be great too.Everyone probably thinks I'm nuts!

yes a cleaner, i was desparate would have appriciated that, or a visiting massage.

Send her some groceries - nice posh versions of ordinary foods - from one of the online supermarkets.

cleaner is a GREAT idea.....or lots of M&S ready meals delivered.....

woopsidaisy · 27/05/2010 13:49

Oh,so glad you all think a cleaner is a good idea! Not the normal pressie, but I would have loved it too. Will stick to that for all future presses.Ninjachipmonk, what about SpaceNK for a nice lotion,or Jo Malone to stuff for 30 pounds?

I was orignally thinking foods but since she has allergies I wouldn't want to send anything that she might not be able to have iykwim? Love the idea of a cleaner, that might just work.....we have a spacenk and a jo malone near me so may also pop in there for a look.
