Could anyone help me find a belt that doesn't give me a rash?

I get contact dermatitis from my metal belt buckle, especially in hot weather. So I need to find a belt that has a plastic or leather-covered (or plated in 18-carat gold) buckle.

It's a holding-up-my-jeans kind of belt I'm after, so around 2-3cm wide. And not too patterned. Will consider any colour.

Also, I live in the US - can get most brands but not Next/M&S etc.

I'd be very grateful for any suggestions. Please don't tell me to buy jeans that fit better. I can't find any that fit both my (normal) waist and my (huge) thighs.

That's a good idea Sooz, I'll try it. Thanks.

Still interested in non-metal buckle ideas though.

Try upscale men's departments in a good store for good quality belts and be prepared to shell out a fair bit. Women's belts tend to be fashion items more than functional investments so the buckles are usually alloy or coated, but good quality men's belts tend to be better-made and use higher quality materials.

Or try something like this -- they have a good reputation for customer service and might be able to tell you if there's nickel in the buckle.

A fancy scarf can be used for a belt too.

Actually THIS might be just what you need. Ta Da!

Thank you mathanxiety - that is probably the answer to all my problems!
