I need a holiday wardrobe - we are camping but I want to be stylish

Help please!!!
We are eurocamping in France for a week, it will be warm so I would normally just spend the week in shorts and t-shirts/vests. Starting to realise that I'm dressing like my 5yo daughter and I would love to look casual but stylish and grown up and "pulled together"

Also we are travelling light, so can't take much, and I don't have much of a budget!

So what would your essential items be?

For me it would be warm and not showing the dirt / crumples too much !

Dont forget most large campsites have washing machines you can hire so that helps, especially if you are travelling light.

A few bold accessories will pull the outfits together imo, chunky necklace bangle etc. Linen trousers and nice cardi would work well in the evenings.

Have a nice time !

If I was going for a week I would literally take the following:

jersey dress
cotton beach dress
skirt
1 pair of shorts - denim cut offs - you can then match them with a selection of cotton tops rather than t shirts.

Oh DrS that's scary - for a week I normally take whatever I'm wearing to travel then about 4 or 5 other complete outfits

That's far too much isn't it...

OK so I have a good skirt, I have denim cutoffs, so I reckon I need a couple of dresses and some accessories

What about shoes? Just flip flops?

Yes - just flip flops/birkies.

I did used to take complete outfits but have now managed to organise a capsule holiday wardrobe

Depending on your budget Great Plains have some nice summer/jersey dresses in and nice cotton tops too. I saw yesterday that Gap had some nice cotton tops too.

doggiesayswoof · 26/05/2010 14:39

I didn't like to utter the words, but I really want a capsule wardrobe

I like Great plains a lot but might be a bit over my budget - checked New Look and H&M but felt like mutton. I will have a look in Gap though.

How about this dress You could wear it into autumn with leggings/trousers and layer it up with a long sleeve t-shirt so would get lots of wear out of it.

Saw this and thought it might be useful if you are near the beach/pool

sunglasses
jeans
t-shirts/summer shirts, halters
shorts
swimsuit
socks
hiking boots
running shoes
footwear for beach sandals/flipflops
warm hoodies
hat
You must not make the mistake of not bringing a warm outfit, you could get a cold day or night. Better to be prepared.
Sunblock, aloe and insect repellent
No scented products, bugs like it.
