Make my first holiday in years - find me a swimsuit so I can take ds swimming

have booked first family holiday in years! Its only a week at a holiday park in Devon and have been so looking forward to it until I tried to find a swimsuit so I can take ds swimming in the parks pool which looks great with slides for little uns, but.......... have put on soooo much weight over the last couple of years I can't find a swimsuit which looks reasonable on, doesn't help that I'm also tall and big busted.

Swimsuit NEEDS to be :

Longer length (tried on standard length's but they just flatten boobs and I look like the big lump I have turned into )

Underwired (really need support, unless someone can recommend something else supportive)

Size around 40-DD/E or 22/24.

Preferably

  • V-necked or widestrapped
  • Low legged
  • Not too bright
  • in stock! (holiday is early July)

Have had M&S suits home (longer length but not underwired and they look awful, Evans are underwired but not longer length so the bra part doesnt reach up high enough).

I'm not loaded, but, don't mind investing a bit of money (but don't tell dh ) if its the right one (< £100), as otherwise my holiday will be ruined because I just won't go to the pool with dh and ds.

Please, please, please if you can help me you'll make my holiday!

40E left but DD sold out

swim dress not underwired but foam cups which are fine for my E cups

over budget but they are supposed to be good

This tankini is amazing for big boobs, and has loads of overlap between the two halves so shoud be fine for your height. Fold briefs are better than the other option.

tankini

Have you looked at Landsend? They do a 'tall range' and have lots of different styles including low legged.

quick search came across this one Not cheap though.

scurryfunge · 26/05/2010 15:19

this is longer length but not underwired

Lindax · 26/05/2010 15:40

tillyscoutsmum saw the first one and liked it, but as you say sold out. Looked at the mirclesuits and they dont seem to come in long lengths. same with swim dress, the problem is if it is not long length the bottom of the bust part sits about 3 inches too low so everything doesnt sit right/gets squished flat and the shoulders dig in.

middleduck need tummy support from a full costume, my midrift showing in a tankini would terrify the kids!

fatsuma landsend costumes are great, had one before in an 18, but they dont go up to a 22/24 in longer length.

scurryfunge saw the of the simplybe ones and they are (the only ones) on my list for ordering to try, hoping the foam cups will support bust enough, but would prefer underwired if anyone can find one.

There was one underwired one there by Triumph but it was out of stock unfortunately...maybe look on a Triumph website directly

muddleduck · 26/05/2010 15:44

i know what you mean lindax
i'd always assumed the same but was persuaded to try this and it is fab. Loads of tummy support and definitely no tummy on show.

Tillyscoutsmum · 26/05/2010 15:51

Lindax - the swimdress does come in longer length (the link doesn't work for some reason but it was a Silhouette one)
