I really love this but I'm 35, curvy and have big boobs - will it look hideous??? I saw a woman last week at a party wearing a jumpsuit and thought she looked fab.

Go on, tell me, I can take it....

no it's silky - pretty sure it's the same one - comptoir don't sell online sadly...

Romanarama · 26/05/2010 19:10

I don't think that colour would go with dark opaques anyway tbh.

Join the other thread - it's great, and you won't get anyone tut tutting over your jumpsuit plan

RussAbbotDancer · 26/05/2010 19:19

I was in M&S the other day and saw a woman, probably mid-fifties if not older, in a navy silk jumpsuit. Pulled in at waist with thick stretch belt. Vivid green cropped cardi. Heels. Olive skin. Big sunglasses. She looked amazing.

I think as long as you have a discernible waistline and well-supported chest then a jumpsuit can work at any age (depending on the jumpsuit; wouldn't generalise with "skirt" or "trousers" so why blanket ban on jumpsuits?). Only other thing I'd worry about would be how the bum looks - I imagine they're pretty unforgiving on the "wrong" bum.

littledawley · 26/05/2010 19:55

Ahh see, I never really worry about my bum - it's pretty sizable but I can't see it so I really don't care!!

Allora, your's sounds perfect, it's not online so I may have to go in which I can't do before the weekend...

Do you know, I was looking at one by miss sixty i think, or possibly diesel? it was just absolutely glamorous. It was gathered in at the waist with a belt, pockets on the top and slightly kick flared bottoms, looked fab with very high heels.

BUT. I think you have to be very very long legged. Not just tall, but the proportions of you have to be mostly leg, with a stunning figure to boot. And the cut has to be well tailored. Really well tailored, ie, a lot of money to buy. Or else it would look dreadful. And most people have shorter legs than would work well. So most people would look dreadful.

Alas, I am of the short leg variety so will keep away, despite my inner desires.

I am not sure if big boobs would work in all honesty, unless it was dive cut (whatever it is really called have no idea, but split down between busts) or buttoned, then you need a really good bra.

Jumpsuits - Yay!

I have 2 playsuits and a few jumpsuits ( obviously bought into the trend!).

My gay uber stylish friend who works in fashion, told me they look good on, so that was good enough for me.

Am 30, 5ft 2/3ish and a small size 10, with a very generous set of boobs, so sound similar to you. Jesus that reads like a personal. Go for Jumpsuit, it looks lovely.

LetThemEatCake · 26/05/2010 21:36

love and would wear just about everything on this page ... if only I were about half a stone thinner.

and would wear this in a heartbeat. I mean, it even has arse coverage, what more could you want??

bishboschone · 26/05/2010 21:41

ltec, the one I tried on in D.P's wasn't dissimilar to that one (minus the bum coverage) It was £20 but its not on the website. I thought maybe I had gone mad but it really was flattering.

traceybath · 26/05/2010 22:00

Bish - you know you've got to go back and get it don't you

notyummy · 26/05/2010 22:09

LTEC - half a stone thinner and you would disappear! (Which is the sort of thing an old lady would say....but I don't care )

mathanxiety · 27/05/2010 02:39

They're basically old lady trousers with an attached top.

RiverOfSleep · 27/05/2010 08:53

I like the look of jumpsuits but the practicalities stop me from getting one.... it a pain going to the loo in a jumpsuit? Also, don't the trousers feel a bit thin? Normally trousers are a heavier fabric than your top, but with jumpsuits all being the same fabric I imagine I'd feel a bit vulnerable in one. And due to thin fabric and VPL, not able to wear substantial enough knickers to feel properly covered.

Sorry but someone had to ask all these questions

toppoptart · 27/05/2010 11:34

I would get it in a flash its absolutely gorgeous, I have got a printed Idol at Newlook one and i love it gonna wear it with black boyfriend jacket and heels this weekend...

ticktockclock · 27/05/2010 11:38

I think they look great if you have the right type of body for them. Slim (think size 8), minimal boobage, and reasonably tall. Otherwise you would look like an overstuffed sausage.

Katyathegringa · 27/05/2010 14:54

To be honest, most of them could pass for a matching top and trousers - so I don't see the problem (unless you have a problem with matching tops and trousers that is)

bishboschone · 27/05/2010 18:03

tracey..I know I have been thinking about wether I should all day..must get a life!!

littledawley · 27/05/2010 19:39

Davina McCall was on the telly last night wearing the perfect jumpsuit - can I find out where the hell she got it????
