Help - think I'll need a bigger bridesmaid's dress

Just found out that I'm pregnant .I'm being a bridesmaid when I'll be 13 weeks gone. The bridesmaid dress I've got is a very slinky and fitted size 8. Even if I wasn't pregnant, I wouldn't be able to eat many pies between now and the time I'm going to be a bridesmaid. I've seen the dress on ebay in larger sizes. I think it might be a good idea if I buy another one in a bigger size so as not to ruin my best friends wedding by not fitting into my dress.

This is my first pregnancy so I have no idea about the rate at which I'll gain weight. Any advice? Do you think I'll go up one or two dress sizes? Its a very fitted dress.

Congrats on the pregnancy!

To be honest, with my 1st pregnancy I didn't show at all until I was over 20 weeks and wore the same size (size 12-14) all the way through.... except that by the end I couldn't button any trousers

You say you're a size 8 now, no idea how much you'll go up by 13 weeks, it's really a guessing game.

Buy the size up then have it taken in a bit if it's too big. Most clothing alteration places could do this quickly. Plus, it's easier to have a dress taken in a bit than to have extra material sourced and added to one that's too small!

If you've seen it on Ebay, tbh, I'd buy the next two sizes up, as you just don't know what will happen to your norks or tummy. I certainly had no hope with any of my trousers by 13 weeks.

At least you know on Ebay you'll be able to get back pretty much the cost of the dresses if you don't need them
