sunhats - what can I wear without looking like crazy lady

They only look like scary madwoman hat because you're not used to seeing yourself in a hat.

As long as the crown of the hat is not too big or too small for your head, almost any wide-brimmed sunhat will look elegant, as long as you hold your head up high and carry it off with panache.

I usually wear a cowboy hat (straw)

My face is too big to take anyhting else, especially those cotton ones with a floppy brim

I have a big head and sunhats are usually too tight! And mainly they are in one size only.

Any ideas as who may stock hats for (just slightly) bigger heads?

Have a look at this make. Initially expensive, but cheaper than buying a new hat every year - especially if you don't enjoy hat-hunting or are difficult to fit. Also virtually indestructible, which is very useful when you have dc to contend with.
