...for dry skin. Any hints/tips/recommendations?

A really good moisturiser is always a good start. Are you happy with the one you currently use?!!?

Then I would suggest a foundation primer such as Laura Mercier Hydrating primer.

I've got very dry skin and have always found Chanel Vitalumiere really good. I'm currently using Bobbi Brown Luminous moisturising foundation which is also good and slightly more moisturising than the Chanel but I prefer the coverage of Chanel.
