I saw lots of people wafting along in maxi dresses with low slung bosoms and thought Stepford. Creepy.

Not accesorising on the beach is so English. I will be on a beach this time tomorrow in a leopard print bikini, gold sunnies, gold flip flops, gold beach bag. Can't wait!

What is it with maxi dresses? Short people look swamped in them, tall people look like freakish giantesses. Skinny people look flat chested and bony. Curvy types just expose back fat and chubby upper arms. They do not look good on anyone outside of a glossy clothing catalogue.

I swear, they're the 'jeggings' of summerwear. We've been told they're flattering, but look around you - they're NOT.

There were a fair few boardshorts on Tynemouth beach today. Ideal for hauling yer kids out of the surf without having to brave an actual swim cossie. Looks good with tankini top or similar.

love my board shorts - they have pockets and they cover my bum aaaaand they are always cheap in tk max as I am clearly the only person who buys them!

yeah they always have loads in mine for some reason (i like the roxy ones - you get a little comb on a keychain with them - i'm a sucker for a gimmick).

I love accessorising on the beach! We have Hermès beach towels (DD has pink with fish, I have blue with a sun) and I have a beautiful bright pink towelling beach bag that holds everything so there isn't a nasty pile of mess next to me! DD has beautiful pink Hello Kitty sunglasses and a new green spotted halter neck swimsuit, dull gold Havaianas and a yellow kaftan with dull gold embroidery, and Chanel particulière nail varnish on her toes... TBH, I have a really hard time stopping myself from buying beach clothes - I love them!
