from Clarks

ballerinas but with small heel and 'substance'

workwear wedges

God they're comfortable straight on. I will report back if I manage to wear in with NO blisters...

Very nice!

I especially like the sandals. What colour are yours? The link says 'lavender' but the picture makes the shoes look tan.

WilfShelf · 22/05/2010 16:22

They are lavender-ish but not too blueish... So more a kind of warm taupey-mushroomy shade. Very flattering colour on my pale yellowish skin-tone!

Now need new nail polish for toes... hmmm: nude?

They look lovely. Comfy shoes are the Holy Grail in this weather, aren't they?

WilfShelf · 22/05/2010 16:25

Yes

And I bought the ballerinas in wide fit to cope with my ridiculous bunions

The wedges have a sort of squishy sole btw, which seems like a brilliant idea...! So your foot kind of sinks in.

I DO NOT work for Clarks btw.

That's right, she doesn't.

She owns the company!

Earlybird · 22/05/2010 16:54

I like them even more now i know they work for those of us with bunions.

Shoe shopping can be such a challenge for those of us who are afflicted - first we have to have something comfortable that doesn't aggravate the bunion, and then there is the concern about 'hiding' the bunion. It really takes the pleasure out of shoe shopping.

Let us know how you get on with the shoes once you've worn them for a full day.

WilfShelf · 22/05/2010 17:00

Will do. Probably wear the wedges to work on monday, though have been wearing round house/garden today and no probs so far. The toe straps go right over my bunions so not on show, though doubtless they'll stretch out of shape eventually being suede.

The ballerinas are lovely and wide enough but quite 'low cut' IYSWIM, so it does look like my bunions are falling out. Hmm. We'll see.

I do hate the way shoes start to look abnormal after a few goes.

I am too wimpy to get my bunions fixed though.

Yes, I've been told the best course of action is to wear shoes that don't aggravate the bunions, and that surgery is truly a last resort.

Avad · 22/05/2010 17:07

those sandals are just what I am looking for prefer them in the gold though

DontCallMeBaby · 22/05/2010 17:31

One of my colleagues has those Clarks Cocoa Creme in about 14 different colours and lives in fear of them being discontinued. Her DH thinks she's barking, same shoes in all those different colours.

I have a lovely new pair of shoes, it was bad enough that they're M&S Footglove, but then I noticed the school secretary had the same pair. Hers are tan though, and mine are PURPLE.

harpsichordcarrier · 22/05/2010 17:32

I have the ballerina in turquoise
CLEARLY I need them in red too

WilfShelf · 22/05/2010 17:34

I think we need to put pressure on Clarks to do some in silver and gold too.

cornsilkcottagecheese · 22/05/2010 17:44

I'm sorry wilf but those wedges look a bit ..hotter to me.

GeorginaWorsley · 22/05/2010 18:28

Have been eyeing up the wedges myself....

WilfShelf · 22/05/2010 18:33

A bit what corny?

No comprende...

OP posts:
Avad · 22/05/2010 19:48

oh lordy maybe i won't buy the sandals after all then, I wouldn't want anyone at school thinking I was wearing whispers Hotter shoes

WilfShelf · 22/05/2010 19:51

Ah. Have just googled hotter shoes.

Um. No. I think you'll find these have a 3.5 inch heel.

OP posts:
cornsilkcottagecheese · 22/05/2010 20:22

sorry wilf - they're just not my cup of tea but if you wear then they must be cool

WilfShelf · 22/05/2010 20:31

I don't care

I like my sky high heels and fabulous shoes too

But I have to be able to walk a lot.

They probably look better in RL than in the photo

cornsilkcottagecheese · 22/05/2010 20:36

I'm just jealous 'cos I still have gruffalo toes which cannot be shown.

WilfShelf · 22/05/2010 21:11

I was watching the hasbeen thread with interest. I like the cloggy ones with a t-bar which are high, but they look goddamned painful to me. I had high heeled clogs, last time round (or three) back in 1996. And they fucking hurt.

OP posts:
cornsilkcottagecheese · 22/05/2010 21:36

I have a pair of fly cloggy things but haven't worn them yet, what with having minging feet.
