We are having or daughter christened in Aug and i have bought this dress to wear

As i am a size 16 normally and still carrying some post baby weight, I definitely need some help from supportive bloody miracle working underwear.

Are spanx really good and worth investing in? Thanks in anticipation.

Yes, surprisingly comfortable and crotchless which makes bathroom visits a breeze! Get the ones that go all the way up to your bra with cycling shorts. Actually much more breathable than you imagine.

Oh thanks for replying SoLongAsItsHealthy. I may well give them a whirl. I think the dress should be ok, but the material is very floaty,even though it is a sort of jersey, so it fits where it touches IYSWIM. Just want to enjoy the day without having to worry too much about whether people can see my flabby bits!

Yes, Spanx are fab BUT if yuor dress is going to be floaty and not much below the knee, beware the cycling shorts bit. I was wearing the most gorgeous dress to a wedding on Saturday with Spanx underneath. I picked up DS2 and he sort of dragged my dress up a bit with his body...revealing a pair of passion killers underneath. I was mortified

Also, I have not met anyone in RL who is able to use the crotchless peeing facility, or even who is not totally revolted by the idea. Post babies, if I attempted to do that in my Spanx I would have wet pants on all day (sorry if TMI).

You can get high waisted hold in tights.That would avoid any unsightly flashing of granny pants.I have some from wolford that are v sexy (bought by DH) they have a lace up corset effect at the top.They were big bucks though.maybe someone else does some? try tightsplease or mytights or figleaves.

I reckon the best ones are john Lewis seamless, they are cheaper than spanx and fit really well, up as high as boobs and mid thigh
