I bought this book in a fit of idle curiosity while in England at the weekend.

It is not really a cook book, is it? It's a lifestyle guide: how to become Sophie Dahl.

"Not sure I and my lifestyle are quite as telegenic" Well, I don't know about the book, but her TV lifestyle was pretty much fictionalised, wasn't it? Wasn't her house, anyway.

Ooh, but the kitchen and the little garden-room thingy were so swoony. And I loved the way she stirred everything with rusty old kitchenalia utensils (that no real person would use) and she had dinky little 40's bone china cups and saucers, and doilies, and hand-knitted cardies, and she SAT on her Aga, (clearly wasn't swtiched on - mine would brand my arse) Yes it was twaddle - but what pretty, captivating, very English, Twaddle. Go on Bonsoir, you know you want to.

Not quite on point but along the same lines....

KM - I have never tried her perfume, but nor would I want to, I imagine it to smell of drugs, sex, fags and booze... anyone else?

Plus she's shagged Pete Doherty, who is the ugliest, grubbiest, most scuzzy human being ever. Makes me want to hurl just thinking about it.
