Help, dropped make-up bag down the loo!

Today . Knew it was going to happen sometime, new house, new bathroom, too small etc.

Need a new black mascara at the bare minimum. Anything good out there? I was using that Max Factor Masterpiece and it was okay I would say.

Any good foundations? I know that there are loads of threads on this already. I think I might try the vitalumiere.

I use the origins 'pinch my cheeks' blush in a tube and will repurchase that.

Also Barry M liquid eyeliner - to repurchase.

Oh, this brings back memories of when I dropped my Mums Helena Rubenstein bronzing powder compact down the toilet of a boat. She was more than a little cross.

Are you near a House of Fraser or John Lewis? They're both usually quite generous with samples and I'd expect they'd be especially kind if you tell them about the make up bag down the loo debacle. I know Chanel Vitalumiere is raved about but now it's warming up you might want something slightly lighter. Try Dior Nude. It's a little more runny than the Chanel V but covers well and doesn't shift all day. See if you can get samples of both to try.

The best mascara I've found is Clinique Long Pretty Lashes. It really does make your lashes look mega long without clumping. For a more dramatic big lash look the new Lancome Hypnose is fab.

When you tell the make-up counter lady about your disaster, Amandoh is right, they will arm you with samples. I once went visiting my mum without my make-up bag and scuttled to the nearest Dior counter to buy bare essentials, and the lovely lady sent me away with a carrier bag full of samples and full-size tester items that she had in a drawer.

I like Clinique long Pretty Lashes too, but also do like the Diorshow mascara best - but NOT the waterproof version, which is really claggy, the original non-waterproof one.

I don't like Chanel vitalumiere, but I do like their (lighter) Teint Innocence foundation and have used that since Dior discontinued their Diorlight foundation (which I moved onto after Estee Lauder discontinued Enlighten, which was the greatest foundation ever... ((sigh))) They will give you samples of both on Chanel if you ask.

The pinch your cheeks is fab, I love that too.

oh dear. you'll laugh about it one day.

i bought a loreal mascara the otehr day and I wouldn't recommend it at all. It's really crumbly. You put it on and ten minutes later you have to clean up under your eyes with a wipe. It comes in a gold tube. don't buy that one!
