maxi dress for the school run, overdressed?

I have bought this dress but in navy which I really like. I don't normally wear dresses, hence the low price tag just in case I decided I hated it or it was too impractical!

I am thinking about wearing it tomorrow, with a denim jacket and some flat sandals. But I am a bit worried about being overdressed for the school run! Most people (unless they are going to work) are in jeans and fleeces/t-shirts.

Do I brazen it out and ignore the "ooh get her, where does she think she's going?" comments, or do I save it for the weekend...?

You wore it - well done!.My ds3 says I look pretty when I wear dresses/skirts/necklaces!.Then she follows it by "Most of the time mummy you look ugly".My ds1 [nearly a teenager] says "mummy why are you wearing that-you don't look like the other mums".All I can say is thank god I don't.[mode of dress is t shirts and trackie bottoms on rather large bodies].I am showing my prejudices on this post aren't I?

I am loving tie dye at the moment, although I do prefer the smudgey prints in shades of 1 colour to the obv stripy multi-coloured stuff.
