I was going to wear a stripey number to the forthcoming Epsom Derby, but I looked fat in it, so now I've chosen this dress. I'd like something as a cover up, but think I'd find a wrap a bit annoying. Would a Marabou shrug in black or purple look nice or something else?

I plan to wear high black courts, I have a feather bag and might have a feathery fascinator.

Thanks

From looking at all the profiles with your outfit, I find it tricky to say what cover up would look good, especially as the top of your outfit has a tie thing at the back. You've got to be careful that whatever wrap/shrug you have doesn't make it look bulky around the neck and shoulders.

fascinator?

another?

Your outfit looks quite formal, rather than summery/flirty so I'm not sure something like this wouldn't look better?

with a wrap. I know you said a wrap would annoy you but you could wrap it delicately around your shoulders and tie it to one side of your chest.

check out of the occasion section on the Monsoon site as they have a 'Day at the Races' section.

Thanks Lucie. I know what you mean about the tie at the back neck. I should probably go with a wrap, but unsure of how to keep it in place. I did see on Lorraine Kelly's GMTV slot where the stylist placed it around the shoulders of the model and then under the arms and knotting it at the back waist. What colour wrap and in what fabric would look best?

I do like the idea of a hat, but I don't think I'm confident enough to wear one and because I've never worn those types of hat, I know I will just find it annoying. I saw quite a nice Fascinator in Coast, on a band which could be quite nice.
