Bought these but not sure if they are horrible or not and whether to take them back.. would be lumbered with a credit voucher but better that than having something horrible in my wardrobe.. bought them as they were the only thing remotely flattering to my post-baby tummy in the shop...

Be honest, but not harsh as feeling a bit sensitive as so little fits me! If I keep them, what would you recommend to go with them, jewellery and shoes-wise?

I like the tunic very much but the 2nd link does not work . Have you seen mint velvet top it's similar and MOS will give you 20% off .this wear with grey leggings or skinnies.

bishboschone · 13/05/2010 19:25

s'ok, expensive though

traceybath · 13/05/2010 19:28

The stripey breton top - think thats what your first one is - is lovely. Friend has it in RL - looks good with jeans.

Second one which Bish linked to is also gorgeous - really lovely colour. Would you wear it as a dress or does it need leggings?

stripeycup · 13/05/2010 19:53

Sorry not able to get the links to work.. thanks for being nice, feeling a bit happier!
It's not a problem to return as I live really close to the shop but just needed an objective opinion.

I know they are expensive - hence my guilt and posting on here to make sure they were ok.. planning to wear to death .. got suckered in by the sympathetic shop assistant who was bringing me tummy-friendly options when I explained the problem..

Glad you like the stripey breton one. Dress planning to wear with leggings/tights when cold like today, or if warm enough bare-legged.

Sounds fab.

I love their stuff and find the staff in my local one (bath) really helpful.

brimfull · 13/05/2010 20:02

well the only link I can see looks like a sack tbh
but I am sure if you are gorgeous/slim and tallish it will look lovely

stripeycup · 13/05/2010 20:14

Oh no.. am v short.... but sack is probably all I can get away with at the moment.. it has a tie thing that I am hoping makes it look a bit more defined ...
maybe should take it back..

have worked out how to do links here I hope, is the other one:

shapeless clothes on even slightly overweight people just makes you look bigger imo
speaking as a size 16 here

traceybath · 13/05/2010 20:25

I have this top and its lovely. It skims but isn't at all sack like and pretty colour.

I'm guessing the tie belt gives it shape and makes the tunic less 'sack' like.

Try it on at home and see what your DP thinks perhaps?

stripeycup · 13/05/2010 20:32

That's a really nice top tracey.

Showed my DP yesterday and he told me it gave me back fat!! (But had put on with pre preg tights that dug in!) He wasn't a fan! Of either!

So went back today and changed the dress from the blue-grey to pink which somehow was less clingy on the back.. and got the stripey breton in a smaller size which was more flattering according to the assistant..

Gonna go try them on again!

stripeycup · 14/05/2010 09:24

Thanks for help yesterday - gonna keep the top but the dress is going back!

crumpette · 14/05/2010 09:41

Aww dress looks pretty, I love that colour and think you could wear in all seasons..

stripeycup · 14/05/2010 11:33

Went back to shop and the assistant showed me how it's actually meant to be tied.. looks a bit less sack-like.. so have come home with it again...! talk about indecisive!!

OP posts:
vinauchocolat · 14/05/2010 11:58

keep it!

traceybath · 14/05/2010 12:05

I saw it in the window today on my way to do grocery shopping and loved it!

Glad you kept it - its a lovely colour and will also look good in the winter.
