Have just bought this for wearing to Chelsea Flower Show (but also for as general use ) and this for an evening do.

The second one is gorgeous - drapes beautifully and looks far more expensive than the 28 quid it cost

thanks tulpe. I have brown hair and am quite fiar skinned, however because I will be on holiday I am hoping that I will have a little bit of colour.

I bought a fab one on ebay 2 yrs ago and it is superb now i am 8 mths PG- will be looking for another one or two - thks for the inspiration ladies. I think strappy flat or low metallic sandals are the nicest with them , very grecian

Quick Update on the red DP dress: arrived yesterday and is really, really GORGEOUS

It looks absolutely stunning on and is a really vibrant but expensive looking red.

I'm actually going to buy that red one now for a works do I have, but any recommendations for shoes? I was thinking silvery strappy heels????

tulpe · 14/05/2010 16:55

I think it would work with silver or gold strappy heels or flats.

I found a stunning beaded 1950's vintage evening bag to go with today in an antiques store. It's a gold fold-over clutch. Am really looking forward to this event now

Really tempted by that red dress. How is the fitting tulpe? I know DP can be generous.

SirCharlieStinkySocks · 14/05/2010 20:36

Bag sounds fab Tulpe, I'm wearing mine to a graduation ball I'm organising for work so need to be dressy but not too much so I am very grateful you put the link up to that dress!!

tulpe · 14/05/2010 20:41

cilldara - I would say the fitting is true to size.

SirCharlie - you are very welcome

Forgot to say, the halter strap is removable. I think for daytime you need the strap but for evening it definitely looks better without, imo

I got this from Gap in purple and is lovely on (a bit low cut but looks fab layered with coloured vest underneath....

tulpe · 14/05/2010 20:54

MooMinCow I like that one from Gap - it was on my shortlist

This arrived today. Was a bargainous £16 with DP's "Fashion Thursday 20% off". It is quite voluminous but it is a lovely colour and would be great for taller ladies (it comfortably skims the floor on my 5'6" frame).

am determined not to buy any more maxis this season........
