Help - size 18 and need a nice outfit for a wedding

Hi all,

I really need some help. I am a size 18 with a definite mummy belly . Now that DD is 6 months I'm starting to work out/stop eating so much cake and lose some weight but I feel very self conscious just now. Two good friends of ours are getting married in June and I need something nice to wear but I have no idea what will look good - I live in jeans and trainers (and did even before dd came along) and hate shopping. I have no idea what suits me.
They are getting married abroad with just their parents at the ceremony so it is just an afternoon/evening do rather than the church bit. I am 5ft 5, carry most of my weight around my middle and am a DD cup size - I feel big all over but guess my arms and legs are fairly slim for my size.
Please help!!!

this works incredibly well on the large bellied size 18.

I agree with sooz28 I am a similar size and shape to you although a few inches shorter and I bought a monsoon oriane dress for my BIL's wedding last year. DD2 was 7 months old. I got a beautiful brown fitted jacket to go over it and it was comfortable and looked very smart.

It is a very flattering shape.

I had this one.

Hope this helps.

Sorry to post and run, dd woke up in a grump. Poor little girl has a chesty cough . I'll go and look at those dresses now.

Slug, Phase Eight have discombobulated your link by offering 20% off. Which dress was it??

The Isla dress. I have it in blue. It's quite soft jersey, but looks fab on both me and my almost circular friend (both size 18)
