How to stop hair bands/Alice bands hurting?

Hi. My DD complains that her Alice bands/hair bands hurt her. I now don't buy any with grips on the inside of the bands but she still says they hurt. I was wondering if anyone has a solution to this problem or has, for e.g., glued sponge on the inside of the band to help? Many thanks

Strangely, I get a similar problem with some sunglasses, they press on the hard bone behind my ear.

How about the elasticated ones instead, I found they stayed reasonably well with a couple of hairclips if she needs something along those lines?

if you're buying her hard plastic ones, maybe switch to headbands with softer fabrics on the coating, like velvet. hope this helps!
