It's this for my brothers wedding. Am 5'9, size 14 - pics on profile.

And if you like, what shoes ? Am rather wide of foot, and will need to be able to run after 4 year old

oooh i like!! too high?

Poledra · 10/05/2010 09:42

I like it, but it will need a decent heel to avoid looking like you think you;re on holiday somewhere hot. QueenJ's shoes are luvverly.....

CMOTdibbler · 10/05/2010 09:48

Those shoes are lovely - will have to go and try them on if the dress fits/suits me.

Am struggling to find a dress for this wedding - it's a bit odd as I'll know no one apart from my brother, his fiancee, and my parents - no other relatives. And all the dresses I fancy seem to make me look like a shot putter

It came today. Looked Not Good At All. Somehow reduced my bust and expanded my rib cage.

So, the search goes on. I fancy a 50's prom dress sort of thing, but fear it may have a similar effect. Sigh.

whats your price range?

TheLadyOfTheGreenKirtle · 11/05/2010 19:03

nice

TheLadyOfTheGreenKirtle · 11/05/2010 19:08

this is v pretty (wish they had it in petite for me)

CMOTdibbler · 11/05/2010 19:46

Price range - happy to spend 250 if something was fabulous, but intent was around 150 iyswim.

First dress is lovely, but I think too dressy, second pretty, but I look like a dishrag in yellow alas.

I think with my build, I'm not doing myself any favours with straight down below the bust as it accentuates my lack of nork, and large ribcage tbh

hmm, what shape are you? how are your legs?

CMOTdibbler · 11/05/2010 20:54

I think I'd be described as athletic if I was a bit thinner - wide shoulders, small (36b)norks, big ribs, no real waist side to side, not too bad on the tummy now, good long legs, arms are fine. Very pale, and red (dyed) hair.

Don't want to be overdressed, but would like DBs friends and SIL-to-be to have one decent impression of his family iyswim.

is it a fancy wedding? how fancy?

CMOTdibbler · 11/05/2010 21:00

I don't think it is v fancy, but they are having all the trimmings. From the little I know of both parties (not close to my brother), it certainly won't be high fashion

If you fancy the 50's prom dress vibe, your best bet is here. Their dresses are stunning.

CMOTdibbler · 12/05/2010 09:16

Thanks Clure - might have a look at the Oasis one with sleeves - I think the others will do exactly the same to me as the JL one.

RedLlama - I have been drooling over the Vivien dresses for a while, but not sure if they flatter the smaller bust ?

redllamayellowllama · 12/05/2010 20:12

Hhhm, tricky one. They do have corsets and stuff built in so would enhance even the smallest of bosoms. Any chance you could go there and give one a whirl?

TheLadyOfTheGreenKirtle · 13/05/2010 17:32

blue love this some really nice jackie O style dreses in the sale too.
