colours done but i don't want to be a Spring

Had my colours done yesterday courtesy of a present of my mil. Turns out I'm a spring. Should I be a slave to colours I don't like. Colours like Salmon (barf) and icky yellows. Or should I just go for colours I really love that may not be on my colour chart?

don't worry it's not the law

Aren't there lots of colours on the chart?

Can you pick some that you like?

Salbysea · 08/05/2010 22:58

which spring are you (warm/cool etc)?

IfYoureHappyAndYouKnowIt · 08/05/2010 22:58

It's not the law but even if you don't like some of the colours did you believe that she was right - i.e. that the Spring colours suit you best?

If so I guess you either try them cos they suit you or stick with others that maybe don't suit you as well

Sod that, wear what you like.

Life's too short.

I think certain autumns can wear certain spring's palates and vice verca

Can't you keep the flattering colours close to your face i.e. a scarf and wear other colours further away?

Another idea is to watch what's fashionable in the shops and then pick the spring colours out

For example, purple is a good colour for me but over the years I've never seen much purple so haven't bought it much. But from last winter to now purple has been everywhere - so I've bought a few things and everyone has commented on how good they look. Could you do a similar thing?

To be honest I was a bit phased initially but over time have found it really useful - acc the system I did spring is always warm and clear. So if nothing else one thing you could do is just avoid polar opposites - e.g. muted grey. Prior to having mine done I did wear grey occasionally but never felt great in it - now I would never buy grey.
