What to wear with a red bandage dress?

Following on from my previous thread about needing a glam dress I have bought a red bandage dress. Haven't got a link but it's got a deep V neck with v. wide shoulder 'straps'. It sits just above the knee.

I will be wearing a 'diamond' necklace and small drop 'diamond' earrings. No bracelet but a large red cocktail ring.

I need shoes, bag & wrap to go with. Any colour goes (maybe gold - have some gold snakeskin shoes) - was thinking black but maybe that's too safe. I've got these nude shoes but what bag and wrap would I wear with them?

Dress sounds gorgeous - what make is it to see if we can find a link . . .

I love those shoes and often coveted them so would wear them. Perhaps a gold clutch bag or I love a bit of leopard which could look cool with the red or maybe too bet lynch for you.

Well I was thinking maybe a snakeskin clutch?

LK Bennet do a gold snakeskin clutch here which is a perfect match with my gold snakeskin shoes (by Matalan!! ) Is it too matchy matchy to have coordinating shoes and bag these days?

I think nude shoes are great

I wonder whether you'd consider not matching the earrings and necklace? Big hoop earrings would casual it up a bit

Snakeskin clutch excellent idea

Here's the dress.

Saucy!

BunnyLebowski · 08/05/2010 16:11

Woah! That dress is gorgeous! Very Hervé Léger

The clutch would be perfect but not with those shoes imo.

Got a link to the gold shoes?

traceybath · 08/05/2010 16:18

Love the dress and love that clutch!

Pennies · 08/05/2010 16:20

Shoes. These aren't the ones exactly but as close as dammit.

The pattern on my shoes is identical to the LK Bennett clutch.

I love those nude shoes in your first link more classy than the gold ones.

sailorsgal · 08/05/2010 16:40

Gold clutch is gorgeous.

Pennies · 08/05/2010 16:45

sailorsgal - I agree with you re. the shoes but i don't think the gorgeous clutch will go well with the nude shoes.

The gold shoes are nice too though. You have great taste.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 08/05/2010 17:16

Look for a new clutch then. I agree about the nude shoes. The dress should be the focus

Pennies · 08/05/2010 17:58

What about this bag then?

OP posts:
Jamieandhismagictorch · 08/05/2010 18:00

crikey £395. Nice though

traceybath · 08/05/2010 18:01

Nice - or this one

Pennies · 08/05/2010 18:03

Or, what about this with theses?

I'm trying not to look at the prices. They make my eyes hurt.

OP posts:
traceybath · 08/05/2010 18:05

They're lovely as well - I'm a great help but as others have said - you have fab taste and a good budget.

Pennies · 08/05/2010 18:05

Actually - forget that Herve Leger bag. It's foul, huge and too expensive. I thought it was satin and sequins and small.

traceybath · 08/05/2010 18:11

Wow - it is big - I didn't look at the model shots.

I like the anya one I linked too.

Or you could go all out with Judith Lieber.

Think on balance I would go nude shoes and gold bag rather than black.

sailorsgal · 08/05/2010 18:35

The snakeskin one is fab.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 08/05/2010 18:56

Yes, the gold bag with the nude shoes would look classy. I'm not a fan of red and black.

That enormous bag is more of a "grapple" than a "clutch"

Jamieandhismagictorch · 08/05/2010 18:57

I meant the gold Marano bag. It's a nice gold
