Thank you everyone that helped! Especially Soupdragon who provided the link to heels.com!

I ordered them late Tuesday night, and they got here this morning, and no customs to pay! So only cost me £120

I think they are the right size, they feel like they could be a bit small (they are very narrow. But they are absolutely gorgeous, so they may be worth the pain!

are these THE shoes or did you go for something else??

30andMerkin · 07/05/2010 12:51

Wear them around the hosue with socks on - that'll stretch them just enough to be comfy on the day!

BattyKoda · 07/05/2010 13:09

THE shoes lucykate Was so excited the FedEx guy must have thought I was nuts!! Just in case you've forgotton what they look like

Am wearing them now 30andMerkin, but without socks, are socks better?

Feel a bit posh doing the washing up in these

Oh well done Batty. Now I want you to do the Shred wearing them !! Jumping jacks and skipping.
Yes socks are good with sandals ....wear them on your wedding day as well.

Oblomov · 07/05/2010 13:13

many boot repair/cobblers will lend you, for free, or a small fee, a pair of shoe stretchers.
worked on my wedding shoes. fab.

Cadelaide · 07/05/2010 13:14

ooooooooh, pretty pretty shoes

BattyKoda · 07/05/2010 13:15

and socks on wedding day some like these?

OP posts:
BattyKoda · 07/05/2010 13:17

Do you think they could stretch the sole as well...my feet to seem to be spilling over slightly, (my feet aren't particularly wide, but like I said they are very narrow!) I@m sure no one will notice though

Don't get washing up water on them!

BattyKoda · 07/05/2010 14:05

Okay, I've measured them against my other sandals. They are in fact a size 5. I wanted a size 6 and went with their sizing conversion chart which said American 8 is a 6. It's not, it's a 5, which will be why they are too small.
Bugger, they are only just too small though, could probably do with going up half a size perhaps.

OP posts:
lucykate · 07/05/2010 14:59

it may be that brand is small in their sizing. will you manage on the day with them being slightly small?

i remember dh's shoes being agony for him on our wedding day, he took them off in the evening and literally covered his feet in plasters!

mine were very cheap, in the sale strappy sandals from next which i dyed brown afterwards!

BattyKoda · 07/05/2010 15:23

I did the live help thing and they told me they were true to size. They are exactly the same size as my size 5's.

I probably could manage, I think I might see how much returning them will cost me and get the next size up to be on the safe side.

Try going back onto live help and explaining that they are NOT true to size and see if you can get an exchange - followed your original thread and they are very expensive if they don't fit very well.

Good luck

BattyKoda · 07/05/2010 15:30

Thanks Lynne... yeah I thought I might try that, they might be open now so I'll try now!

Hello sorry, am back!
If you decide to keep them then socks are better for wearing them in because it'll make your feet warmer, which make them bigger, and also helps the leather/fabric stretch. What's more it protects your feet from getting rubs - the last thing you want to do is get a blister/rub from your shoes in the run-up to your wedding!

I spend a week before my wedding running around the house in beautiful pale blue courts with bobby socks underneath like some 50s throwback, but it worked!

BattyKoda · 07/05/2010 15:45

Thanks 30andMerkin. I really think I need to go up at least half a size though, maybe even a whole size (to allow for whole day on my feet in hopefully hot July!).

Dammit
