Flip flops that aren't flat...

gleegeekgleek · 07/05/2010 11:35

I'd love some flip flops for my holidays which are not totally flat as I am a short arse and need a bit of lift to elongate my legs, especially when wearing a swim suit. Nothing ridiculous - just an inch or two.

There are some in M&S but the bit between the toes was a bit thick and hard so not very comfy.

Any ideas welcome!

Fit Flops? The most comfy flipflops ever, but not brilliantly beautiful.

McDreamy · 07/05/2010 11:37

I was also going to say Fit Flops, not attractive but veru comfortable.

gleegeekgleek · 07/05/2010 11:40

Hmmm.....a bit too clompy for my liking I'm afraid.

I have just bought some in TK Maxx from Crocs which are a bit like Fit Flops with a moulded sole so something like that might suit. Note, if you do not like Crocs (like me!) these look nothing like them!

luciemule · 07/05/2010 11:40

like this?

luciemule · 07/05/2010 11:42

yummy scrummy

luciemule · 07/05/2010 11:43

If you want to elongate your legs, then a prettier wedge toe post etc, will be more flattering than normal flip flops with a raised sole.

WelliesAndPyjamas · 07/05/2010 11:44

the skechers tone-ups are nice, just bought a pair and am smitten (esp as I got a big discount at a designer outlet thingy). They do other colours too but the heel is probably what you mean?

gleegeekgleek · 07/05/2010 12:08

Pied a Terre ones are lovely but ouch at the price. I might treat myself though....

Sketchers too clompy.

Any others - a bit like the Pied a Terre but a tiny bit cheaper?

Pretty with slight wedge

KnottyLocks · 07/05/2010 12:58

reef ones

frumpygrumpy · 07/05/2010 13:01

I so know what you need because I am searching for them myself!

I bought a fabby pair in Spain a few years ago. They were slightly 'platform' but in a very delicate way. Cork soled trimmed with red leather and with red leather strapping. Gorgeous. Have worn them to death and they are falling apart and shabby. Can't find a replacement anywhere

aquavit · 07/05/2010 13:02

oooh knotty I have been lemming those Lotus ones for a couple of days now - does anyone know of any high street stockists? prefer to try on rather than buy online.

I also like these but perhaps a little clumpy for you OP

gleegeekgleek · 07/05/2010 13:07

Reef ones are perfect - ordering now. How cool is it that they are linked to Amazon so if you put your Amazon password etc. in they already have all your details!

Hurrah! A success story.

Alternative:
Beaded

KnottyLocks · 07/05/2010 13:19

Aquavit, the Lotus are in my shopping basket awaiting payday!

Glee, have a search on that site. There are several Reef ones with small wedges.

Pannacotta · 07/05/2010 13:37

Apsiga do lots of pretty low wedge flip flops, like this

gleegeekgleek · 07/05/2010 13:43

Oh no - now I can't decide which of the Javari ones to get.

Argh! I was waiting til after 2pm to actually press order as I don't want the postman ringing the doorbell at 7.30am on a Saturday as he tends to do so preferred Monday rather than the next day.

Which to get girls?!?

It's better to have too much choice.

Now, what are you wearing them with? Is it a colour issue or design issue that's causing the indecision?

The Reef ones are more casual than the others.

That's if the others are the beaded or the Lotus ones.

wickedfairy · 07/05/2010 14:26

I've just bought 2 pairs of wedge flip flops from Asda - about a fiver each (maybe one pair could have been seven quid).

They are realy flattering and comfy - I got a black pair with black beads on the straps and a brown pair with brown & gold beads on the straps.

Look good and comfy for much cheapness!

florencepink · 07/05/2010 14:35

I've also got the £5 asda ones they're nice and at that price you could get a couple of pairs! i've just looked at them and the wedge is about 5cm high.

gleegeekgleek · 07/05/2010 15:32

Damn re Asda ones as they are so much cheaper and I've ordered the Reefs now, although there isn't an Asda anywhere near here anyway I suppose so not the end of the world!

these ones?
direct.asda.com/george/shoes/ladies-shoes/sandals-and-flip-flops/wedge-sandals/GEM3530 2,default,pd.html

Damn and they are available online. £15 cheaper than the ones I just ordered....grrr
