Damn the "Smart-Casual" dress code!!!!!

I hate this form of dress code but unfortunately must adhere to it for a fundraiser at end of May. It's cocktails and dinner with a live band (jazz - Ella Fitzgerald-esque, as opposed to Courtney Pine or George Mellie ). To complicate matters, it is in a marquee in the garden of some rather swanky pad in London.

I really like this dress by Belle & Bunty

Alternatively, perhaps a gorgeous maxi might be the way to go?

Please help!

I am size 8, 5'6" , 39 years old and would like to spend as little as possible!!

What form of dress code would you have preferred?

My olny concern about that B & B dress is that it could look like a nightie

OMDB - yes, I had my concerns about that too.

How about this maxi in navy from ASOS?

Or there is this by Mango 9&Rf-300=1356&Rf-100=Dresses%20-%20Evening&Rf-200=3,14,7,8,10,2,17,9,1&sh=0&pge=11&pgesize=20&sort=- 1&clr=Blue which I think has the same qualities as the maxi.........except it would require some fake tannage on the legs
