Best Vest?!

Hi,
I am hitting the shops tomorrow and need to start with some new basics and have no time to waste as DH looking after DS1 and DS2 together for the first time alone

Can anyone recoommend a great basic vest - high backed, wide straps, decent quality material, long length so I don't waste time trawling the shops when I could be having a long, leisurely lunch and admiring my purchases ?!

Thanks so much

Do you mean a sleeveless t shirt - as opposed to something you wear under your other clothes to keep warm

I recommend the various Fenn Wright Manson sleeveless tops in John Lewis. eg. here

If they are like the one I had last summer they are double layer around the top, so very smooth, and wash/wear really well.

Tricky.

I tried Gap, over priced thin material.
M & S too short in the body.
Next, covered in horrid prints, or the shoulder straps are too close for those like me with wide shoulders.

I got some in BHS in desperation.

I would love a white vest that was made from a thick enough material so that my bra doesnt show, any ideas.

unless you are after undergarments, you can pick up a basic vest like that from most high street shops, h&m, Zara, Primark, New Look, John Lewis, Debenhams.....

zanzi try Primark

Pinkleina · 06/05/2010 07:28

Ha ha no not undergarment lol!

Thanks Zanzi/omdb for your replies...

Glad you said that re Gap as that was first port of call...2 DS's under 3 does not allow for much shopping time other than online so my precious day cannot be wasted!

Off I head to H&M and NL methinks as well as ever trusty JL

Zanzibar - after an exhaustive day at the shops (and a purse lightening spree in H&M) the perfect white vest has proved elusive!New Look, NEXT, H&M, Debenhams, John Lewis, Gap all tried and failed...TESCO, Matalan and Primark remain!
Tootootired - Lovely but bit out of my price range!
Happy shopping
