Fraid I'm not a stylish fashionista charlotte but here's what I have gleaned from reading these threads:

maxi dress; denim jacket and big bag is something of a summer trend - maxi dress covers many lumps and bumps

linen trousers - not white as it shows through cellulite although I wear white

tunic and leggings still good from winter but swap boots for gladiator sandals

Jeans into boots is always a slimming look with top which fits snugly and layers...I disguise my enormouswomanly curves alot this way. I'm the same shape'ish..

I also like cropped trousers with ballet flats & I have even snuck into cigarette pants with a longish top and ballet flats. Make sure the top cuts off at the point on your thigh where you are slimmest - gives the impression they are slim all the way, which mine are not!

Agree with Jenduff on Maxi - just bought a maxi skirt and with a wide belt looks fab.

Big bags make you look smaller - always my choice!

How about something like this?

Tarka, I have indeed been known to sport the odd bin bag, find it immensley useful some days...

wineismysaviour · 06/05/2010 16:01

Spooky, have you seen these..fab dress..I am contemplating, as they are made to measure...and all the models who are not stick thin look fabulous!

Clure · 06/05/2010 18:02

wineismysaviour, I have that very dress and it is truly gorgeous. Sizing is on snug side.

spookycharlotte, agree with the maxi dress
how about little tea dress with 3/4 leggings and gladiators/ballet pumps
this type of top with good fitting jeans and cropped cardi

wineismysaviour · 06/05/2010 18:04

Clure, I am soooo excited you have it, it says they come up small, I am a size 16, should I go 18, , and cut out the label?!

Does it come to the knee or below the knee, i'm 5'9..

Sorry to hijack thread..

Clure · 06/05/2010 19:07

wineismysaviour i'm size 6-8 and I got the 8 which fits around middle but bit gapey around bust. They say you can choose the bust size (A-C then they do a bigger cupsize) As I can sew I am slightly altering the bust as my rather shameful A cup hardly fills it!. I did find it shows a bit of cleavage. The length comes just on my knee (I'm 5'1)
I would say it's very flattering and nicely cut. (tempted to get the pencil style in the russian doll fabric too!) I got the bird fabric which has a real vintage look. They do have a returns within 14 days if its not right. Go for it!

Great, thanks for the advice Clure....
