Over Boden?

I notice there are quite a few threads about Boden, but can I just say I am so bored with Johnnie and his twee catalogues? Mix it up a bit Johnnie, the never-ending catalogues featuring mundane facts about underfed models are starting to do my head in!

Some of the clothes are okay, but seriously, I'm over the bombardment!

Am I alone in this?

Ive just sent two dresses back that were hanging in my wardrobe for 2 months. Its great for the childrens stuff but its too frumpy, appart from the plimsolls which are great!

thatsnotmyfruitshoot · 05/05/2010 23:05

Agreed. Bought nothing for me for two seasons in a row now. Fed up of garish prints or frumpy styles. Like the shoes but they're eye wateringly expensive.

Colours need a rethink too imho.

bronze · 05/05/2010 23:08

I was never under Boden
Don't think I've ever worn anything but hem but I'm not mid height normal size or rich enough

kittya · 05/05/2010 23:13

To be fair, there are always loads of discounts milling about so it doesnt end up being that expensive. Its just the styles arent very "now". The plimsols are a great bargain and I always get commented on them. The dresses this year are just too frumpy and ill fitting. I saw Sam Cam in mine the other day, that was enough for me to send it back!!

bronze · 05/05/2010 23:29

I buy stuff once in a blue moon so really thats unfair of me to label boden like that cos in reality anywhere is too expensive for me.

fearnelinen · 05/05/2010 23:39

I went to the shop - loaded with plastic - bought nothing! Not even a kids T-Shirt. Everything I tried on was unflattering and wouldn't have looked out of place on my Mum Even the boots were ill-fitting.
And don't get me started on the doorstops kindling papiermachekits catalogues

Pancakeflipper · 05/05/2010 23:46

I am lost this year. Nothing in the Spring or Summer catalogue.... It's dated and samey. Bought the kids loads.

But where do I shop now?????

kittya · 05/05/2010 23:55

I like Kew

lucykate · 05/05/2010 23:59

i grew bored of boden about 2 years ago, these days the catalogues go straight in the recycling. still check out the sales, mainly for the dc's.

prefer uniqlo, white stuff, saltwater now.

Magaly · 06/05/2010 08:52

I picked up the latest Cath Kidston magazine this morning. Now THAT'S a catalogue! Pored over it for an hour! Especially coveting the swimsuit on page 14. Anyone else seen it? Lovely.

Agree.
I still buy the odd basic- some knitwear is nice-and smart trousers, with 20% off or sales.

But how many swishy or fun skirts can a woman want? I get sick of the same styles every season and the same prints.

I want a bit more sophistication.

I am over 50 but still want to look glam!

Magaly · 06/05/2010 14:42

I think if their prices were better they'd sell so much more...

Their santorini cardigan is beautiful and I would love it in pale grey and periwinkle (eh, blue) but it is £59. If that was £39 I'd press the 'fuck it' button to coin a phrase used on s&b earlier today. I also like a pink merino jumper but again, it's just @20 more than I am prepared to spend.

Nobody laughed at Jonnie (Barry) Boden-Benson joke!

kittya · 06/05/2010 15:03

you can get a tenner off both of those if you order them separately

noddyholder · 06/05/2010 15:05

Soooo frumpy and i'm mid forties!I would never wear it bar the shoes.Agree its only for kids

BarryBenson · 06/05/2010 15:10

yes but I have to pay postage as I'm not in the UK. So it's better for me to order a few things together... (If i order at all). Have only EVER ordered anything in sale...
