I realise this is a long shot but it's worth a go! Maybe I should just pay someone to 'style' me?!

Dorothy Perkins is good, and from what I can remember their larger stores have a 'tall' section.

Zara if you're more 14 than 16. Trousers are always v long.

How tall are you? I'm assuming you're aware of Long Tall Sally and similar.

if money is not an issue i would try independant boutiques

I would book a personal shopping session at selfridges and let them do the hard work whilst I sipped champagne and tried stuff on.

However when I want to smarten up I think Jigsaw has some nice things for tall girls (you do need to try on though because some of their things are cut for shrimps, and some of it is just plain frumpy)

Gap for jersey tops and vests - lovely and long in the body and sleeve, good for layering with jackets etc

and if I were allergic to shopping I would go with a friend and make sure we had the odd pub stop refreshment break rather than get a personal shopper, but that is probably why I am more scruffy than classy

Yeah, GetOrf, LTS is crap, you're not wrong. Am 5'11'' so some of it's too long anyway
