I've bought this dress for my 30th Birthday night out in 2 weeks time.

I'm going for the pin-up look so will be doing my hair like this with this flower. Lots of eyeliner and red lippy

The only thing I need are shoes. We're going out for drinks and then going to a indie/rock club and there will be serious dancing so I really don't want to wear heels.

Do you think flats (I'm thinking black) would look ok with my dress? Any suggestions?

I think flats would look cute.

Gorgeous dress, by the way!

BunnyLebowski · 05/05/2010 13:32

Thanks for those Elemental

Since posting my dress has arrived and I've just been trying it on and swooshing round my room! I love it!!!

I have a pair of red flats like these Just tried them on with the dress and they looked good!

I have a wee black cardie that I'll wear over and I think I'm sorted!!

Ah, yeah, they look cool! Patent shoes with 50s style dress are always good, I think.

MrsMeow · 05/05/2010 16:29

Ohhh I love, love, LOVE the Rockabilly look! That dress is gorgeous Do you have dark hair?

I've been coveting this for ages!

Those red shoes you linked to will look great with the dress. If you change your mind and fancy heels though, I'd recommend patent Mary Janes with a heel.

CybilLiberty · 05/05/2010 16:34

Bunny I would still go for heels I'm afraid! And then practice dancing in the kitchen before I go

BunnyLebowski · 05/05/2010 16:35

Oooh that dress is lovely MrsMeow. In fact that site is dangerous

I was gonna get one with a petticoat but decided to go for the 'wiggle' pencil dress look instead!

Yes I have long dark hair - lots of pics on my profile

Can't wait!!!

Nah Cyb because I know exactly how the evening will pan out if I do.

I will end up hobbling between pubs looking like a constipated baby giraffe.

Then when we get to the club I will kick the shoes off into a corner and dance in my bare feet which is not a good idea in an establishment centred around selling stuff in glasses. Ouch.

Then I will beg the bar staff for plasters for my bleeding heels and will hobble home and spend the next day with my disfigured hooves in a basin of hot water.

T'is much easier if I just wear flats

I never think to look at peoples profiles - d'oh!

You are absolutely gorrrrrrrrgeous though, you'll look fab in that dress I love the pencil skirt style, but I'd always have to go for the loads of petticoats look to make my waist look smaller!

When I read your post title, I thought you meant accessorise as in jewellery and was going to suggest a necklace like one I have, that's almost exactly the same style as the one in your Halloween pic!

You'll have to post pics when you've put it all together, I'd love to see the finished look!

ps: your DD is adorable!

FloweryTwats · 05/05/2010 20:16

Lovely dress, flats will be fab I often wear them lately (& changed into them out of my Mary Janes at the wedding t'other week in the evening).

I agree with MrsMeow your DD may be even more gorge than mine!!

BunnyLebowski · 06/05/2010 09:32

Aw thanks ladies. She is pretty darn adorable .

MrsMeow I will definitely post pics of the finished look!
