Leggings with skirts

Ok, so I know they are fine under short denim skirts, but I don't do minis...my denim skirt is knee-length...would it look ridiculous to wear leggings under it on these chillier days? Also have a crinkled grey knee-length skirt...would black leggings work under it?

smallishsheep · 04/05/2010 16:32

Depends what shoes, and how old you are tbh.
I have been wearing footless tights under shortish summer dresses and flip flops, but I am a relative youngun and am only doing it as my legs are a sight I should inflict on noone

smallishsheep · 04/05/2010 16:33

Ooo although I have seen you are talking about a knee length denim skirt
Is that not frump central? Just about acceptable with tights and boots in deepest winter

CybilLiberty · 04/05/2010 16:34

knee length fine, ankle length no no no

Pinkmarshmallow · 04/05/2010 16:35

smallishsheep I'm late 20s and I'm thinking flipflops and ballet style pumps and have legs that sound like the description of yours!

OP posts:
Pinkmarshmallow · 04/05/2010 16:36

yeah in winter, opaques and boots, now that it's spring, I dunno what to wear with it.

OP posts:
smallishsheep · 04/05/2010 16:37

In that case, get a shorter skirt.
Am with you on ankle length though cyb. Only people I see in those are those women with really long hair and headbands...

Pinkmarshmallow · 04/05/2010 16:38

don't worry, no ankle length ones....

I wouldn't think twice about it - very practical as well! Any length.

toddlerama · 06/05/2010 23:22

I do it all the time. 28, so not that young.

Pinkmarshmallow · 07/05/2010 13:35

thanks ladies, I was beginning to think there's no hope for me and that I'm a total frump. Yippeee!

PMSL at "28, so not that young"

I also do it all the time and I am 38. So not that old! My skirt is not exactly knee length, more just above the knee.

foureleven · 07/05/2010 17:44

I am concerned it would make your legs look short. I am 5 foot 10 and i tried this once but it made my legs look stumpy.

Pinkmarshmallow · 07/05/2010 18:47

that's a good point, foureleven, I'm only 5ft 2or3, but then again I think I'll always look stumpy no matter what I wear!(and I can't do heels )
Iklboo and lynne, I remember that being the fashion about 15 or so years ago! I hated them back then...prefer it as separates, two different colours/materials.

I wear footless tights that co-ordinate with what i am wearing or just black.
