Eeek! Bikini Bottoms which cover the stomach but do not look matronly

I want to wear a bikini this year on holiday (first time in 15 years) because I just get too hot and feel dowdy in my cossie. But, post DCs, the tummy is rather blancmangey and battle-scarred.

Any suggestions for tummy-concealing bikini bottoms (I don't want a tankini)

TIA

There's high waisted stuff like this or cutaway suits along these lines
If you're bigger than a DD I'd really recommend getting bra sized swimwear, it's far more flattering in my experience. I've struggled for years to find something to flatter me AND hold up my post bf F cups but finally have a bikini with 'big pants' which looks half decent (to be worn abroad only natch!)

thanks marriednotdead - the bikini is really nice. Unfortunately the bulgy bits would bulge out screaming Look At Me !! on the cutaway one

My boobs are "modest" so no real issues there ....

That's a high waisted bikini?

Jamieandhismagictorch · 03/05/2010 22:32

But the folded bit folds up Maisie

Am in the same position, and tried on what felt like every bikini on sale in Selfridges a coulel of weeks ago (although, to be fair, I didn't try the really expensive ones). And this was by far the best. Bought a size up, and it comes reasonably high with the option to adjust the top fold if necessary. Looked nice pulled up higher on the non-knotted side, IYKWIM.

What about some vintage style stuff

HinnyPet · 03/05/2010 23:13

How uncomfortable does that vintage dressed lady look!

JeMeSouviens · 03/05/2010 23:17

There is a nice one on Anthropologie they've just released, can't do a link, they just go to the home page.

it's called the surfacing bikini, under the India collection

Jamieandhismagictorch · 04/05/2010 06:11

Thanks all.

The seafolly one looks worth a look. That vintage one is very cool. Not sure I have the chutzpah (or the norks) to carry it off, though

JeMeSouviens - I can't find the bikini on the Anthropologie website. It may just be me. Never heard of them before - there's some gorgeous stuff

Ahhh, I get it now...

AllBuggiedOut · 04/05/2010 09:22

It's not you, Jamie, you need to go to the international part of the site - does this link work?

bobbiewickham · 04/05/2010 09:27

That is a gorgeous bikini!

I still can't find it on the site, though.

bobbiewickham · 04/05/2010 09:51

Found it - but it's not classified for international sale!

Grr.

Tis my perfect bikini.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 04/05/2010 12:52

Darn it- That is nice - very '50s

I've found one on the M&S website with a similar top to that one, but with fold up-or-down-bottoms.

I did not know such a thing existed til I came on here (der..), so thanks all

Will link

have also had another nose on the ForLuna website (linked above by jenduff) - some great '50s style bikinis. Love the cherry print one
