Have you ever returned ill-fitting shoes?

Not sure whose 'fault' this issue is really so thought I'd ask before embarassing myself in the shop.

My feet are normally a size 3-4. I bought these in a size 4. I've worn them twice and both times they've ben totally uncomfortable after a couple of hours. Basically, I think they're too small.

Part of me thinks it's my own fault but they did feel OK in the shop and I've never worn a size bigger than 4 in my life, in fact I bought a pair of heeled shoes from Dune in a size 3 as the size 4 was falling off my feet.

Do I have any redress, do you think?

no. best bet is to flog on Ebay. If they were faulty that's one thing- but making a mistake over sizing is no excuse for a refund etc.

I doubt it-especially as you tried them on in the shop.
Have you worn the outside?-if not, its possible you might talk them into an exchange/credit note.

I have worn them outside. I guess it is my mistake but really at least 60% of shoes I buy are size 3, 40% size 4 so isn't their sizing a bit faulty?

i did once. bought some clarks short black boots with a zip and one was agony. took them back saying I thought zip must have been placed in boot wrong and the shop gave me a replacement pair! give it a go.

ive only ever done it for my DD when she got "fitted" at clarks to find the shoes gave her blisters the size of golf balls. she had worn them but i took them back, however i guess that was their fault for not fitting them properly.

im not sure if youve got any redress because you chose the wrong size. might be worth a try though.

I don't think you have aleg to stand on! sorry. I used to work in a shoe shop as a student. Things people tried to do!
I think shoes are like any other items of clothing- you need to try for fit, not worry about the sizing they give them.
I have recently bought a pair of Dune sandals and found a 37 fitted, which amazed me as I am usually a 5, 5.5, and sometimes a 6. ( 38 or 39)
Similarly, I have a pair of DUO boots in a 37, despite having had about 5 pairs in my usual 38.

I don't think you can as they will say you should have realised when trying them on in the shop that they were too small.

Saying that I saw someone in Boots the other day return a £25 jar of face cream, she told the assistnt that she'd used it a couple of times and it made her face blotchy. The woman asked if she could swap it for another brand and the assistant (who was an aquaintance of the woman's) said yes and put the used jar back on the shelf. How unhygenic is that!
