I need a dress to wear to my sister's wedding in Las Vegas - wear to start looking?

My little sister is getting married in Vegas in four weeks time. My 8y DD is bridesmaid and her dress is ordered and hopefully due to arrive in the shop shortly. DH hs his suit, etc. sorted too.

I however have not even started.

I am 5 foot, size 12 (but not a small 12 IYSWIM), small chest, etc. Particularly conscious of tummy and hips.
No idea realy on budget - thinking along the likes of Monsoon, Coast, etc. type prices probably, although flexible. Will need shoes and accessories to go with it.

I like floaty type stuff - but again very flexible.

Are you happy to get your arms out, or do you want coverage?

How about your legs? How short can/will you go?

Do you have an idea of colours you do/don't like?

this is nice

I don't mind arms too much; can always wear a throw anyway.

i don't do short. I was in a maxi dress today for example. Below knee for definite.

would you be brave enough to wait till you got there? Las Vegas is fantastic for shopping...

Ceasers, The Aladin/Paris, There is the "Fashion Show" Mall on the strip plus a couple of really good Outlet malls short taxi ride away - will be cheaper than here.

When we got married in Las Vegas, My sil had a dress from Monsoon, but bought something else out there so took it back for a refund on her return. (had kept labels on & receipt)

No, can't leave it til I get there. I wouldn't want to risk it. besides i hate shopping at the best of times; definitely wou;dn't want to waste holiday time on having to go shopping. Doubt DH and 8y DD would be too impressed at being draggedround shops either!

My mum has just orderd a blue dress, so need to avoid blue.

I think I would be the same, but the shopping is out of this world!

In Ceasers they have marble statues that come "alive" every so often & at the Alladin/Paris there are indoor thunderstorms in the Mall. Also at The Venician, the shops are set around mock canals with men singing opera in gondelers!

It can get quite windy in LV & the air con in the hotels can be quite chilly so I would reccomend a wrap/cardi, but sorry I am crap at fashion/style advice so will leave that to the others.
